After the much-anticipated release of the third installment last October 22, audiences will be able to discover or rediscover all the freshness and energy of High School Musical in a unique ice show.
Each TV broadcast has broken viewership records, each film release is an event, and all the albums have quickly become gold records. High School Musical is a real phenomenon among children and teenagers around the world. More than just a passion, it’s a true addiction they share among themselves. Kenny Ortega, the director of the film who has worked with the biggest names (Madonna, Cher, Elton John…) also wished to participate in the production of this show. This great director (Fame L.A, Ally McBeal…) admits that the production perfectly reflects the jovial team spirit of the films. He is thrilled to see his music and dances performed in a show and claims to have “never seen anything like it in an ice show.”
Kenneth Feld, the producer of the show, explains: “it’s as if the film was made to be adapted on ice.” All skaters are of international level and many come from the world of theater or dance. After the series and the movie, High School Musical will light up theaters in France. The European tour of High School Musical the Ice Tour will stop at the Palais Nikaïa on Tuesday, March 17 and Wednesday, March 18, 2009, and will tour throughout France until the end of April.
At the heart of East High in the United States, Troy, the star athlete of the high school, and Gabriella, the smartest student, are getting ready to audition for their school’s musical. Singing is then neither a priority for Troy’s basketball team “The Wildcats,” nor for Gabriella’s group of scientists. Amid the pressure of the games and science competitions, these characters will forge real connections and contribute to the triumph of this musical.
