Hockey (French Cup): Eagles achieve feat by eliminating Grenoble

Latest News

Widely favored Grenoble has once again been eliminated before the quarter-finals.

Traveling to Nice on Tuesday evening for the round of 16, the Grenoble team was defeated by the Eagles, 4 to 3, at their Jean-Bouin rink (1-0, 1-2, 2-1).

Trailing after the first period, Jyrki Aho’s players nevertheless regained the lead twice in this game: thanks to their international player Damien Fleury and defender Kyle Hardy in the second period; then thanks to one of their Finnish recruits, Markus Poukkula, at the beginning of the third period.

But each time, the Eagles came back to level the score. And they delivered the fatal blow one minute before the end of the match.

A true feat for Stan Sutor’s men, who had lost 7-1 against the same opponent in the Magnus League on October 5th!
