After six defeats, the Eagles finally return to victory in the Championship against Anglet in a thrilling match that gave chills to the supporters of the Azurean capital.
On this fifteenth day of the championship, Nice faces Anglet, currently 12th and last in the standings, at their home. This match, which seemed to be a formality for Fransitek Stolc’s men, turned out to be challenging for the Niçois. The young Eagles managed to repeat a strong performance against Anglet, but in a much tighter match than the first leg, which was decided in overtime.
The Eagles did not back down
It was away that Nice started the match with determination, quickly taking the lead in the first period. In the second period, Anglet picked up the pace and closely trailed Nice on the scoreboard. But it was in the third period that Anglet struck the Eagles with a goal in the 19th minute to equalize and force overtime. Fortunately, Nice could count on the decisive instinct of Kopta Ondrej, who scored twice, including the goal that freed the team in overtime. The match ended with a score of (6-5) for our Eagles and a victory that provides some breathing room in the championship.
