Frantisek Stolc’s men wanted to get back to winning ways. After three consecutive defeats in Ligue Magnus, including the one last Friday at Briançon, the Niçois traveled to Angers this Friday night. The match promised to be quite challenging. After twelve days, Angers was at the top of the league with only two defeats this season.

Angevins start strong

The match began in front of a sold-out rink. It was Angers who opened the scoring after five minutes of play. Phillipe Halley took advantage of a bad exit by Nice’s goalkeeper Nikita Bespalov to score in the empty net (1-0). Trailing, the Niçois started this third period well. Captain Louis Belisle scored the first goal for the Eagles in this match (4-1). The Niçois dominated this last period of the match, even as the Angevins managed to maintain their lead, despite being shorthanded. The score remained unchanged. The Niçois logically fell to Angers. The league leader dominated almost the entire match. Fourth consecutive league defeat for the Eagles.

The next match is next Friday for the Eagles of Nice. The Niçois will face Chamonix at the Jean Bouin rink as part of the 14th day of Ligue Magnus. Kick-off at 8:00 PM.
