On Tuesday, October 3rd, the Eagles, ranked 4th, faced an Anglet team in great difficulty.
The two teams hit the ice with different ambitions. Less than a minute into the game, the Azurean players opened the scoring. Yevgeni Nikiforov, assisted by Norbert Abramov and Andrei Rychagov, carried the puck into the Anglet team’s net. That was the only goal scored at the end of this first period. Neither team managed to assert its superiority.
After two consecutive defeats, the Eagles had to double their efforts to get back on track. The Nice hockey players gave themselves the means to succeed. They scored two additional goals in the second period. Marc-André Levesque scored the Eagles’ second goal, assisted by Andrei Rychagov and Ondrej Kopta. Very quickly, his teammate, forward Daniel Babka, followed the same path after seven minutes of play. Nice went solo and led (3-0).
The Nice Team Scores in Every Period
In the final period, the players in black jerseys continued their momentum. Right out of the locker room, Louis Belisle scored with the help of Lucas Villain and Yevgeni Nikiforov.
At (4-0), the Eagles lowered their guard, allowing the opposing team to score two goals. The first was scored by Nicolas Arrossamena and the second by Samuel Rousseau. But the Nice team didn’t want to stop there. They asserted their superiority by scoring their fifth and final goal. It was a double for Canadian defender Marc-André Levesque towards the end of the game. Finally, it was the Angloys who found the breakthrough last with American Michael Young, who provided a third goal for his team (5-3).
Not a single period without a goal for the men of Frantisek Stolc.
The Eagles’ next game will be on Friday, October 6 in Chamonix.
