There are defeats that resemble victories. It’s unfortunate that they don’t contribute anything to the standings…
This was the case for the loss suffered by the Eagles in Grenoble against a team in top form and unbeaten (with today’s game) for 13 matches, to say the least.
The final score was 5-4 for the Brûleurs de Loups, but what energy from the team from Nice, far removed from the disheartening image of some losses on the road.
A balanced encounter, with Stan Sutor’s men showing the ability to come back into the game after a rapid start from the home team (2-0) with goals from Hampl (11:40) and Vrielynk (11:47).
The same pattern continued in the second period, with a back-and-forth evolution of the score (3-2, 3-3, 4-3, 4-4) with goals scored by Andress (29:34) and Masanec (38:52) for Nice.
It was only in the third period that the Grenoble team managed to score the decisive point (5-4) and secure a victory that was challenged until the end by a very valiant team from Nice.
Nice will travel again this Tuesday to Angers before hosting Bordeaux next Friday at Jean Bouin, before a 10-day pause in the championship.
