Horse Racing: The City of Cagnes-sur-Mer Honored

Latest News

This Saturday at the racetrack will be the 10th edition of Cagnes-sur-Mer Day. The program includes high-level races, parades, tastings, and activities for the whole family.

A beautiful day in the sun at a place considered dreamy by experts and regulars. Add to that eight gallop races, a welcome drink, and numerous stalls to visit — this is indeed Cagnes-sur-Mer Day at the Côte d’Azur racetrack. For the 10th edition, there’s no change to a winning formula, here an organization that pleases.

At the heart of the day are the horses. Eight races will take place from 12 PM to 4 PM, with the highlight being the Grand Prix of the City of Cagnes-sur-Mer, with a prize of €36,000 (to be shared among the top 5). The jockey and the team of the winning horse will receive a prize from the city officials and the racetrack management. On the Cagnes oval, horses from the Paris region, the southwest, and the surrounding areas will compete in good-level races.

Before, during, and after the races, there will be something for everyone. Exceptionally, the racetrack gates will open at 11 AM. Spectators will be traditionally welcomed by Senator-Mayor Louis Nègre with a welcome gift followed by an aperitif. On this occasion, numerous stands from Cagnes shops will be set up within the racetrack grounds. That’s not all, children will be able to enjoy various activities including pony rides, the famous carousel, sulky bikes, and the usual inflatable structures.

To liven up the day, the Danse Center Millenium group will perform a show in front of the stands, and parades featuring Harley Davidsons and some vintage cars are expected to impress both young and old.
