Hospital staff are at war against mandatory vaccination.

Latest News

Yesterday, healthcare workers protested near the Lโ€™Archet hospital in Nice. Equipped with microphones and CGT banners, the white coats protested against vaccination, which becomes mandatory for their profession on September 15.

On Sunday, July 25, the government declared: all healthcare professionals must be vaccinated or risk losing their jobs. This announcement was met with mixed reactions, as hospital staff support vaccination but consider its mandate to be infringing on their freedom. The salaries of unvaccinated healthcare workers will be suspended, and they will be prohibited from practicing. This is perceived as an infringement on individual freedoms and an affront to the Hippocratic oath.

In this context, unions have called for a strike across the entire French territory. A new gathering is planned for next Tuesday in Nice in the early afternoon. Nevertheless, one question remains: what is the future of healthcare professionals who do not wish to be vaccinated?

In theory, vaccination is not mandatory, but in everyday life, not being vaccinated is cumbersome. Employees in certain professions risk dismissal. Visiting shopping centers, bars, and restaurants requires a negative PCR or antigen test. Moreover, these tests will no longer be reimbursed by health insurance come fall, except in cases of a medical prescription. In addition, those who still refuse the jab face financial pressure due to repeated testing.
