How to Promote Hiring in Very Small Businesses?

Latest News

Starting from a simple observation: *“the business owner constantly has projects but does not have the time to develop them”*, Pierre de Bellefon, the coordinator of the SCIC Projets d’Azur, is determined to energize employment. His main target: *“small businesses”* (very small enterprises). His protégés: *“self-sufficient job seekers”*.

However, the father of the project will play much more than a relay role. This initiative, presented on Friday at the CCI premises, enjoys significant institutional backing. The Region, the General Council, and CANCA are all partners. *“Upstream, we need to detect real projects that allow for the creation of future jobs. Afterward, we will select the job seeker who meets this expectation and guide them to become an active part of the company”*, details Pierre de Bellefon. Then, the job seeker, having become an intern in a company in the Azure region, will have six months, the duration of their contract, to prove themselves indispensable.

What makes this original pact charming is its incentive aspect. Indeed, the future intern’s salary will be fully covered by Assedic. In other words, *“minimal risk for the business owner”*, recaps Pierre de Bellefon. Only 150 euros per month will be required from the employer to be paid to the SCIC. *“It’s a project designed by business leaders for business leaders”*, analyzes the Projets d’Azur coordinator.

Objective: 100 to 120 contracts per year

The target announced by Pierre de Bellefon, Jean-François Agostini (Director of Enterprises and Territory at the CCI), and Yvon Grosso (General Secretary UPE 06) is *“around 10 files per month, or 120 per year”*. With a corollary of *“80 to 90% success rate”*. That is stages *“leading to a fixed-term contract of more than six months, a permanent contract, or an assisted employment contract”*. For the initiators of the project, it is therefore *“a win-win agreement. On one hand, we meet the employer’s needs, and on the other hand, there are job creations”*.

During this six-month period, the intern can also benefit from training provided by VARAP 06 (Enhancement of Relations with Professionals). According to Gérald Clément, the honorary president present Friday morning, *“it will involve individually coaching the intern to foster contact and build a professional network. We have the expertise that allows us to salvage many probationary periods”*.

In conclusion, Pierre de Bellefon estimates that this contract brings together *“a good project, a suitable candidate, and the right company”*.
