Ice hockey: getting back on track

Latest News

Tonight at 7:15 PM, Nice Hockey hosts Mulhouse for the 9th day of the D1 tournament. The Eagles are keen on returning to victory after last week’s defeat against Neuilly-sur-Marne.

After a roaring start to the season with 7 wins in 7 games, Stan Sutor’s men experienced their first setback last Saturday. They were defeated in overtime despite leading by two goals with a minute remaining. The Niçois played their last three games away and are looking forward to returning to the Jean Bouin rink.

They are confident for tomorrow’s match, as confirmed by Stan Sutor: “We trained well all week. There is still as much enthusiasm in training; we are ready for the match. We are also happy to be back at our rink after five weeks away.”

Nice Hockey, the league leader, welcomes another strong team: Mulhouse, fourth in the standings, has only had two defeats this season against Dunkerque (4-3) and Val Vanoise (4-5).

The Scorpions are on a four-game winning streak and are three points behind the Eagles. Michal Jelisnek, with his 10 assists since the start of the season, will be absent. Mulhouse boasts the second-best defense and third-best offense. In their last encounters, the Azureans had won 5-2.

The Niçois, who have the second-best offense and third-best defense in D1, will have their hands full against the Mulhousians, who could draw level on points with Nice if successful.
