The Eagles of Nice were defeated in Bordeaux (4-5 after overtime) and thus end the 2012-2013 season in the ยผ finals of the D1 championship.
And yet the Eagles had a good match. Finnish forward Karri Koivu scored twice in 3 minutes 30 seconds: it couldn’t have started better, Nice led 2-0! The Boxers managed to come back with a one-goal lead at the end of the 1st period.
In the 2nd period, Romain MASSON equalized right at the beginning. But the people of Nice didn’t want to give up, 3 minutes later Majernik shook the net! (2-3). At halftime, Bordeaux managed to equalize once again on a counterattack.
But a few minutes later, Karri Koivu scored his hat-trick for the evening (3-4).
In the 3rd period, the Eagles managed to control the game and even created some magnificent opportunities. There were 8 seconds left, just 8 seconds too many, and the Boxers equalized on a counterattack… (4-4).
The people of Nice, defeated, fell apart in overtime (5-4) after a relatively well-controlled match by the Eagles, and not at all helped by the refereeing.
This defeat ends the season!
