The war memorial in the Ariane district of Nice was vandalized during the night from Saturday to Sunday. Three commemorative plaques were likely destroyed with stones. A bronze palm was stolen.
The city of Nice will file a complaint.
As for the perpetrators of the act, since they are undoubtedly proud of their achievement, they should be called by their true name: Idiots!
For Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice, “It’s an act that deserves a severe penalty. Once the necessary police assessments and observations have been completed, the city will clean the site and file a complaint at the same time. The monument will be repaired as soon as possible.”
