In the context of the “Image Class” offered by the Animation Film Workshop of the Nice Cinematheque, seven primary school classes from Nice created an animated film based on the novel “L’Année du Mistouflon” by Anne-Marie Chapouton.
This Tuesday, June 27 at 10 a.m., 160 students from CM1 and CM2 will discover on the big screen the animated film they created!
For four consecutive days, seven schools from the City of Nice (Jules Ferry, Von Derwies, les Genêts, Jean-François Knecht, Fuon Cauda 2, Jean Macé 2, and Bon Voyage 2) initiated the making of an animated film centered around the novel “L’Année du Mistouflon” by Anne-Marie Chapouton, a book included in the recommended reading list for CM1/CM2 students.
Each class worked on a chapter of the book, resulting in the creation of a 20-minute animated film that retraces the adventures, in the heart of the Lubéron, of a funny six-legged animal with sky-blue fur and the ability to speak, known as the Mistouflon.
From the storyboard to the creation of sets, characters, through the animation of cut-paper sequences, from filming to sound recording and voice recording, each class enrolled in this specific project created, over a week, a chapter of the novel into an animated film.
