The team from the Tous Citoyens association sends us this communication: it’s a beautiful humanitarian story that deserves to be told.
Sometimes at the end of the tunnel, there is a ray of light.
“Do you remember Moussa, Ousmane, and Yagouba? We called for your help two years ago for these three isolated young minors who were put out on the street by the Alpes-Maritimes Social Services because they couldn’t prove their minority.
Many of you responded to our calls, offering them shelter or helping us financially with their administrative and medical processes. Thanks to the perseverance of our volunteers and the defense by Maรฎtre Mireille Damiano and Maรฎtre Catherine Cohen-Seat, all three were recognized as minors by the children’s court in Nice and were placed in care.
At 18 years old, each of them obtained their residence permit!
Moussa is now an apprentice pastry chef in Nice. Ousmane is about to take his culinary CAP and works in a Michelin-starred restaurant. Yagouba successfully obtained his bakery CAP. He resides and works in Antibes. All three of them are highly appreciated by their employers and well integrated into local life.
A new life opens up for them after the hardships endured, the ordeal of migration, and the administrative battle they faced upon arriving in France.
We are very proud of them, for their courage and their journey. Their success is a wonderful example and proves, once again, that solidarity is never in vain.”
