Anthony Borrรฉ, the first deputy mayor of Nice, announced this week: in 2021, the City of Nice allocated 739 housing units.
Among these 739 units allocated over the past year, 36% were allocated to working individuals, 17% to people without stable housing, and 15% to requests dating back more than 45 months. Cรดte dโAzur Habitat allocated 559 of these units, and it provides over 20,000 social housing units in the Alpes-Maritimes.
In a video published on Twitter, the first deputy also clarified that 8% of these units were allocated to people with disabilities or illnesses, 4% to poorly housed individuals, and 2% to women who are victims of violence.
โThese priority allocation criteria, in addition to those defined by law and this transparency in communication anticipate by one year the requirement of the Elan law,โ he added.
This Elan law, which since 2018 has aimed particularly at facilitating the construction of new housing units, imposes a demand scoring system starting in 2023.
