In association with the Cรดte d’Azur LGBTQIA+ Center, the Alpes-Maritimes department is offering a sexual health center dedicated to HIV.
This is a first in France, as the very first sexual health center entirely dedicated to HIV has just opened at 8 Baquis Street.
The goal is simple: no more infections by 2023. Each year, nearly 6,500 people discover their HIV-positive status. The center, named “8 Baquis” after its location, will allow for HIV, hepatitis, and STI testing and provide post-exposure treatment.
It will also be a place for the transmission of knowledge and training for healthcare professionals.
8 Baquis is open every Friday, from 11 AM to 9 PM.
“I am more than ever happy to see the materialization of the birth of ‘8 Baquis’ in Nice. This innovative and pilot project, co-constructed and coordinated, is unique in France and will be another experimental tool to further reduce the number of new HIV infections in Alpes-Maritimes,” adds Erwann Le Hรด, president of the Cรดte d’Azur LGBTQIA+ Center.
