For its fourteenth edition, the event “Mars aux Musées” will take place from March 11th to 26th under the theme: Space-Time.

As explained by Master Gérard Baudoux, the deputy for museums and modern and contemporary art, it is primarily an event for students and by students. The aim is to open the doors of museums to young people to encourage them to step inside.

This event confirms its increasing success year after year, and the 2015 edition is expected to affirm the previous ones. One could say, “A day, a museum.” Over fifteen days, there will be exhibitions, performances, workshops, and screenings. The disciplines are varied, ranging from dance to theater, music, and photography.

The purpose of this event is to give young artists the opportunity to make themselves known, noticed, and appreciated. The program is decided by the 2014/2015 class of the Master 2 in Event Management, Mediation, and Cultural Engineering at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis.

Twelve museums in Nice, as well as the university campuses, will host the various events. Space, that of Nice and Time, that of history, since Terra Amata and MAMAC will be discussed. Between these two places, that of the first humans and that of contemporary artists, including those from the Nice school, we will have visited the Roman remains of Cimiez, Baroque Nice, Nice of the Belle Époque, and Nice of the artists. A journey through Time, that of art, culture, and our history.

“Mars aux Musées” is a challenge, a gamble, and a call. Students are both the actors and the spectators of this event, whose inaugural evening will take place this Wednesday, March 11th, at the Charles Nègre Theater of Photography and Image, 27 Bd Dubouchage in Nice.
