In Nice, the champions played… the games for Nice 2018

Valรฉrie Nicolas, Didier Deschamps, Jeff Tordo, Daniel Issautier, Stรฉphane Diagana, Philippe Riboud, Nathalie Leroy, Sonia Fuzia… Many sports, represented by their best athletes, from world champions to Olympic and European champions, gathered at the Acropolis Palace to actively support the bid from Nice, which will receive an answer in just over 20 days, on March 18th at 11:30 am. “It is an excellent bid which immediately integrated the Paralympic games by linking them with the Olympic games through the carnival. We can offer a unique setting of festivities lasting nearly two months,” said Daniel Issautier, a champion of Para Alpine skiing who has participated in three Paralympics and is a native of Saint Etienne de Tinรฉe. He believes in the bid which led the team to title their presentation to the CNOSF (French National Olympic and Sports Committee): JO 2018, Nice stands out. However, we will have to wait until mid-March to find out if after standing out, Nice will convert a rather convincing trial.

“The team is united, and we all believe in it. We gave our best to produce a file that some had already been working on for months. I’m eager for March 18th to get the green light from the CNOSF,” said Valรฉrie Nicolas, voted as the World’s Best Handball Goalkeeper, brimming with energy after being cheered all evening each time her name was announced by the master of ceremonies, Montel. Highly involved in the project both through great athletes and in event organization, the new recruit of the municipality adds another string to her bow after her involvement in schools and not forgetting her number one position within ASPTT Nice.

“It’s a beautiful dream, and we will do everything to turn it into a magnificent reality. The team is strong, and everyone brings their experience, talent, or ideas. I joined during the course of the project, but I quickly felt like I had been there from the first day. Eagerly awaiting the 18th,” said Christophe Pinna, who has also joined the City of Nice to promote sport and local sports clubs, and is another new ambassador for Nice 2018. The list is long but without a doubt, if Nice is chosen on March 18th by the CNOSF, it will be much longer with the rallying of the French sports movement around a unique bid.

It has been a long time since a project has united so many in the region, and particularly in Nice. Even though there are some voices of dissent here and there, overall, Nice 2018 is being received rather favorably by the people of Nice and very favorably in the sporting and community world.

And you, will you also play the games for 2018?
