The chicks of the Nice Roller Attitude (roller) Hockey team have just clinched the title of French champions, a title won during the championship finals held in Toulouse on the 26th and 27th of May. They narrowly missed this title last year, an affront now mended. President Eric Ferrando can be proud of his young players who secured a fine title against tough opponents such as Villeneuve, Angers, or Aubagne. The school holidays are going to be quite pleasant for these youths who were almost born on skates with a hockey stick in their hands.
For the tough players under President Jean-Luc Donivar, it’s a move up to the first division with a French Division 2 championship title, capping off the season with a tremendous success in the final against Fontenay-sous-Bois with an indisputable score of 40 to 13.
The Dolphins will therefore join the Argonauts, Cougars, Templars, and other Spartans for the next season of a sport that is increasingly integrating into the French sporting landscape.
The sport of Nice is thriving and exporting well, as evidenced here.
