After the success of the Tour de l’Infini, the B.A.L. company is back with a play dedicated to the history of Theater. Tiny Stories of the Theater responds to the desires and shyness, the lack of awareness that the public, whether young or older, might have about this art form.
Who knows its origins, the key moments?
How does one become an informed spectator?
During fifty-five minutes, the play revisits the fundamentals of theater. Lightly stepping through its history from Greece to the contemporary stage, moving with leaps (the subject is vast) and detours (the goal is playful), the company aims to make live performance more accessible and encourage less experienced spectators to embrace it. Let the names of Sophocles, Racine, Molière, Marivaux, and Brecht not be mere stones for statues, but those of authors who still touch us today.
By giving all audiences the tools of live performance, its rules of the game, Tiny Stories of the Theater aims to contribute to a “School of the Spectator”. Thierry Vincent, who was a resident in the 90s at the National Theater of Nice, is the author and director of the play. He performs alongside Elise Clary and Elodie Tampon-Lajarriette, and Henry Manini.
