This is an opportunity to discover the life and career of a man who would take a famous decree on March 7, 1884, mandating building owners to provide their tenants with common containers equipped with a lid and sufficient capacity to contain their household waste. From this, the garbage can was born and made its entry into the dictionary in 1890. Also the originator of the sewerage system, this experienced lawyer and administrator would become the French Ambassador to the Vatican in 1896, eventually passing away in 1907.
