Following an accident that occurred Saturday evening in Nice during a wedding celebration at L’Ariane, the mayor of Nice spoke about wedding processions.

On Saturday evening, as a wedding was being celebrated at L’Ariane, one of the vehicles in the wedding procession lost control and collided with a truck, resulting in one death and two injuries. Christian Estrosi called for responsibility from everyone during wedding celebrations.

As a reminder, since 2012, the mayor of Nice has implemented a charter that future married couples must sign, which includes a number of measures to be respected: prohibition of shouting or running in the main courtyard of the town hall, prohibition of displaying any kind of flag…

In 2019, the restrictions were tightened with the creation of a new internal regulation consisting of twenty articles prohibiting actions such as throwing rice on the town hall steps, wearing costumes, or dancing on the road.

Yesterday, via a statement, Christian Estrosi once again called for responsibility from everyone during wedding processions, to ensure that this kind of incident does not happen again.

“I call for the responsibility of the married couples and guests so that these festive days are no longer marred by the death of a person. The city of Nice remains particularly vigilant about respecting rules of good conduct during wedding celebrations and will remain uncompromising regarding the respect of public tranquility.”
