A briefing was held yesterday at the Nice Chamber of Commerce and Industry to present the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit, which will take place from October 31 to November 2 in Nice. The objective: to promote entrepreneurship.
Everyone is familiar with the G20, which regularly brings together the twenty most prominent heads of state and government leaders from around the world. This year, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Prime Minister François Fillon, and their counterparts will be in Cannes on November 3 and 4.
A G20 in Nice… for Entrepreneurs
Ahead of this political summit, the city of Nice will also host a major summit dedicated to entrepreneurs: the G20 YES. According to Jean-Louis Grégoire, the managing director of the event, the goal is to promote entrepreneurs.
“It’s about making them popular because they are a vector of innovation and job creation. Yet, there is always a negative connotation when talking about business and commerce,” he believes.
Six Regional Entrepreneurs in the French Delegation
To best represent France, a specialized jury had to select from a pool of 730 applications. Only sixty names were retained. 10% of the lucky chosen ones are based in the Paca region, from Marseille to Sophia-Antipolis through Le Cannet. This is a way to acknowledge the region’s dynamism.
