The LR deputy, Christian Jacob, met with leaders and activists at a meeting in Villeneuve-Loubet.

Christian Jacob, deputy of Seine-et-Marne and president of the LR group in the National Assembly, marked his political comeback this Tuesday at the sports park of Villeneuve-Loubet in the presence of Christian Estrosi and Éric Ciotti.
“We cannot accept that The Republicans make agreements in our cities with En Marche in the municipal elections! We are not meant to be the auxiliaries of Emmanuel Macron,” stated the candidate for the presidency of the party.
In total, 600 activists gathered in Villeneuve-Loubet, in the heart of the Alpes-Maritimes federation — the largest at a national level with 10,600 registered members, to support Christian Jacob in leading this political family.
Following the catastrophic management of Laurent Wauquiez and the result of the European elections, the LR president of deputies in the National Assembly is seen as the only one capable of turning the situation around before the 2020 municipal elections that could see the fall of some traditional strongholds.
Regarding Nice, where the rivalry between Christian Estrosi and Eric Ciotti might harm the LR result, Christian Jacob did not take an official stance, while appealing for party unity and the preferential option of backing incumbent mayors.

Christian Estrosi positively received these comments: “I welcome Christian Jacob’s remarks, which confirm his intention to unite and put an end to the futile divisions that have done us so much harm.”
