The municipality wished to strengthen its commitment to humanitarian associations that work daily for the most disadvantaged people. Thus, under the impetus of Joรซlle Martinaux, Deputy for Social Affairs and Solidarity, numerous partnerships have been established between the city of Nice and the very dynamic local associative network to fight against exclusion, assist the most vulnerable, and energize the existing network.
The French Popular Relief is one of the many associations supported by the city of Nice for its solidarity initiatives. The municipality provides it with:
– Free provision of an associative space with an area of 118 mยฒ, located at 182, route de Turin, to carry out its associative activities and better organize food distributions;
– Renovation work on these premises has been completed for an amount of โฌ87,000 including taxes (carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electricity, locksmithing, painting);
– A subsidy of โฌ12,000 granted each year since 2009 for the forgotten vacationers’ days;

The French Popular Relief
Founded in 1945, the French Popular Relief (SPF) is a non-profit association declared a national cause. The SPF is particularly attentive to the problems of exclusion affecting children and disadvantaged families: in the short term through emergency solidarity based on food, clothing, etc.; in the long term through professional integration, access to culture, sports, leisure, health, and vacations.
The Federation of Alpes-Maritimes
With 8 branches and 1 committee, the Federation of Alpes-Maritimes of the French Popular Relief develops daily projects for access to vacations, culture, and leisure.
Through its network of reception and solidarity centers, it welcomes all people in difficulty, living in poverty, precarious situations, or exclusion. From a listening work, it identifies the primary needs.
