Monday, October 24, 2011, at 10 a.m. – Relais Petite Enfance “Dominique Paez”, 12, rue Dominique Paez

This Monday, October 24, the Relais Petite Enfance “Dominique Paez”, the third one in Nice, will be inaugurated. It complements the existing services at the Malausséna (Nice East) and Smolett (Nice Center) Relais.

These are places for welcoming and providing information, registration points for early childhood establishments, as well as places for activities and professional development. The Relais are open to various groups: childminders, future parents, parents, and early childhood professionals.

750 approved private childminders can now be received by professionals in these spaces.

The “Dominique Paez” relais opens after 4 months of works. The program included restructuring and renovating the premises, providing access for people with reduced mobility, and bringing the existing facilities into compliance, covering an area of over 100 m².

–An ambitious “Early Childhood” policy

By 2014, Nice will eliminate the number of children on the waiting list by creating 1,000 places. Since 2008, 412 places have already been created, allowing for more than 800 additional children to be accommodated!

The city of Nice currently manages 22 childcare facilities (multi-care, children’s gardens, play centers) and has 150 childminders in its family nursery, providing 1,820 municipal places for 6,000 children served.
