The 68th Nice Fair will take place from Saturday, April 14 to Sunday, April 22, 2012, at the Palais des Expositions.
On this occasion, the Metropolis Nice Côte d’Azur, the city of Nice, and the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes will present, on a joint stand, all the actions and projects undertaken in the field of sports.
– A 100% sports stand between sea and mountains!
The public will be able to learn about on the stand:
– the major sporting events taking place in the area,
– the numerous sports facilities available to them,
– the Nice Stadium project,
– the sports policy aimed at young people,
– the disabled sports program,
– the many existing sports clubs.
Sports animations and demonstrations
Sports demonstrations of tai chi, basketball, handball, table tennis, wheelchair basketball, etc.
Sports athletes from Team London 2012 will be present at the stand for autograph sessions. Among them are Hamilton Sabot, Samir Ait Said, Christine Schoenn, Benjamin Landier, etc.
– The city of Can Tho invited by the city of Nice
Each year on the occasion of the Fair, the city of Nice invites a city with which it is twinned. This year, it is the city of Can Tho, the capital of the Southwest of Vietnam, which will be present on a stand at the entrance of the Palais des Expositions. Nice has signed several partnership agreements with Can Tho in the fields of education, health, tourism, teaching, and research.
Can Tho means “The River of Poems.” This city is located on the Mekong Delta, 170 km from the capital Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). It has 1.2 million inhabitants. It has been twinned with Nice since September 2011.
