Inauguration of the Associate Science Center “La Main à la Pâte” Jean-François Fulconis

Latest News

This Monday, a second “La Main à la Pâte” center (the first one opened at the Piaget school in 2013) will be opened. The center will welcome students from nursery and elementary schools in Nice (primarily those from schools located in REP and REP+ zones). It will also serve as a training venue for teachers on scientific teaching.

Created in 2011 by the Academy of Sciences, the Écoles normales supérieures of Paris and Lyon, the La Main à la Pâte Foundation is a laboratory of ideas and innovative practices aiming to improve the quality of science education in schools and colleges, following the initiative launched by Nobel Prize winner Georges Charpak in 1995.

This second “La Main à la Pâte” center bears the name of Jean-François Fulconis, a mathematician from Nice born around 1530-1535 in Isola and a mathematics teacher in Nice for many years.
