The city of Nice is transforming and beautifying itself through various enhancement and development projects carried out in all neighborhoods. A concrete realization of this political will is the Louis Martin square in Saint-Roman de Bellet.

– A beautified, secure, and pedestrian-friendly neighborhood center

The forecourt, consisting of a pedestrian area with tiles and a turnaround area with black asphalt, did not highlight the church’s entrance. A comprehensive treatment was undertaken to harmonize the space and dedicate it to pedestrians in the best possible conditions.

The area was enhanced by laying a quality Luzerne natural stone pavement and creating a genuine limestone forecourt in front of the church. The view axis on the church facade was highlighted with decorative lighting and the renovation of the fountain.

A sidewalk was also created to facilitate pedestrian movement safely, and a video surveillance camera was installed. Two retractable bollards were made operational to limit vehicle access to religious processions, and olive trees were planted in the square.

These works, carried out by Nice Côte d’Azur, began on March 26, 2012, for a total amount of €210,000 including tax.
