On Tuesday, June 26th at 4 PM, the opening of the photographic exhibition “Save the Elephants of Africa” will take place, which will be held until September 15th at the House of the Environment.
Every day, ivory trafficking kills an average of 55 elephants. Today, there are 350,000 African elephants, and if nothing changes, they will have completely disappeared within 10 years.
The aim of this photographic exhibition is to raise awareness among a large audience about the many dangers threatening this endangered species. Besides ivory trafficking, elephants suffer from diseases, shrinking natural habitats, conflicts with local populations, and climate change.
Through the 28 photographs on display, you will discover the incredible work of rescuing elephants carried out by the 350 employees of The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT) centers based in Africa.
The cities of Nice and Abidjan were twinned on September 6, 2013. Since then, the two territories have maintained close relations and collaborate on environmental or educational projects, especially to build a House of the Environment in Abidjan modeled after the one in Nice.
We thank you in advance for the attention you will give to this information.
