This Thursday morning marked the inauguration of the IKEA Design Workshop, located in the center of Nice. The event took place in the presence of Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, as well as Walter Kadnar, CEO of IKEA France, and Patrick Cazorla, director of the Design Workshop.
“We are going to start a new story between IKEA and the people of Nice,” announces Patrick Cazorla, director of the Design Workshop. While awaiting the opening of the IKEA store near the Allianz Riviera stadium, a smaller complex of 300 m2 opened this Thursday.
A unique concept
Located in the heart of the city of Nice, on Rue Paul Déroulède, the IKEA Design Workshop is new as it is the first installed in France, for now. Here, customers do not come to directly buy furniture or even decorations, but benefit from personalized advice for their interiors, with the option to order items from the catalog. “This workshop will primarily be a place where we aim to assist the people of Nice in realizing their dream kitchen projects or dream closets,” explains Patrick Cazorla. Each client will need to make an appointment on-site or online to receive guidance or advice from the experts present.
A first connection with the people of Nice
“The azure blue of the city and the blue of IKEA go very well together,” adds Walter Kadnar, CEO of IKEA France. After several years of waiting, the first IKEA store opens in Nice. There is therefore a desire to create a connection between the people of Nice and this brand, before the opening of the large store in St-Isidore, in 2022. “I am proud to offer the people of Nice a preview of what future IKEA Nice will be like. This workshop format, unique in France, is a first step in the future relationship that the people of Nice will establish with IKEA,” expresses Christian Estrosi.
