Inauguration of the Italian Presidency of Europe at the CUM in Nice

To celebrate the start of the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Consulate General of Italy is organizing the conference: *Together for a Better and Closer Europe to Citizens: The Priorities of the Italian Presidency*, which will take place on July 1st at 6 PM at the CUM in Nice on the Promenade des Anglais.

Prestigious speakers will discuss various topics and themes concerning European integration.

The debates will focus on the relationship between institutions and citizens, economic growth and employment, international relations, particularly Euro-Mediterranean, and finally, sustainable development in view of the 2015 Universal Exposition to be held in Milan.

Program:

For a Better and Closer Europe to Citizens: Prof. Jean-Christophe Martin, (University of Nice): Presentation of the institutional architecture of the EU; Prof. Adriano Giovannelli, (University of Genoa): Presentation of the European election results and perspectives of the new legislature.

For a Europe of Economic Growth and Employment: Prof. Josiane Auvret-Finck, (University of Nice): Presentation of economic integration; Cyril Robin Champigneul, Head of the Commission’s Representation in Marseille.

For a Europe as a Protagonist in International Relations: Euro-Mediterranean: Agnรจs Rampal, Deputy Mayor Delegate to the Euro-Mediterranean and CUM.

For a Europe in Favor of SMEs: Gerard Louis Bosio, First Vice President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Nice; Attorney Veronica Vecchioni, Lawyer at the Nice Bar.

For a More “Sustainable” Europe in View of Milan Expo 2015: Fabrizio Spada, Head of the Commission’s Representation in Milan.

The moderator of the Round Table will be Brigitte Ferrari, President of MEAM.
