The Marina Picasso Center Maison des Adolescents – Carrefour Santé Jeunes and Daytime Psychodynamic Care for Adolescents was inaugurated by Madame Marina PICASSO, under the high patronage and in the presence of Madame Bernadette CHIRAC, President of the Fondation Hôpitaux de Paris – Hôpitaux de France, and Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice.

An 800 m² space in the heart of Nice, serving adolescents and their families.
“Since 2010, the Maison Des Adolescents has been the hub of a health network for adolescents with a departmental focus. The close partnership established between Carrefour Santé Jeunes and Maison Des Adolescents, the presence of a daytime psychodynamic care structure for adolescents, the attendance at these structures, and the desire to establish this service in the very center of Nice led the Fondation Lenval to acquire an existing residential building at the corner of Avenue Maréchal Joffre and Rue Raynardi,” explains Mr. Bernard LECAT, Director General of the Fondation LENVAL.
The restructuring work on the building, which began in March 2011, took place over 4 months. The total investment (acquisition and work) amounts to 2.7 million euros.
THE MAISON DES ADOLESCENTS, a space for dialogue and listening
The Fondation Lenval created the Maison des Adolescents de Nice in 2007 on Rue Scaliero. It welcomes, free of charge and without an appointment, all young people from the Alpes-Maritimes department, aged 12 to 20, who feel the need to talk about their difficulties in a friendly place specially designed for them.
Complementing existing structures, the Maison des Adolescents has a multidisciplinary team, led by Professor Martine MYQUEL, composed of professionals open to dialogue, attentive and keen to provide personalized, flexible, and quick responses to the specific needs of each situation.
“In 2011, we saw 657 adolescents (including 483 new ones) and received a total of 1461 people. This shows that we reach many adolescents with relatively short follow-ups, which is in line with the Maison des Adolescents’ project to reach adolescents in difficulty before enduring disorders set in. After the very strong increase recorded by doubling the acts, from 1774 acts in 2009 to 3418 in 2010, the number of acts remained stable in 2011 with 3427 acts delivered,” specifies Professor Martine MYQUEL.
A DAYTIME WELCOME FOR ADOLESCENTS
The psychodynamic care for adolescents has been provided since December 4, 2006, within the Fondation Lenval. This activity is under the responsibility of Professor ASKENAZY. The day reception center welcomes twelve adolescents aged 12 to 18 from different sectors, who present adolescent pathologies not requiring or no longer requiring full-time unit care.
THE CARREFOUR SANTE JEUNES
The Marina Picasso Center also hosts the Carrefour Santé Jeunes of the Alpes-Maritimes General Council. Its purpose is to create, from a planning and family education center, a place adapted to the comprehensive medico-psychosocial health needs of young people aged 12 to 25 years, in terms of prevention and health orientation, by offering them free multidisciplinary consultations.
