The Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, the transport organizing authority, has been heavily investing for years in the development of public transport to offer an ecological and economical transport option to the residents of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur.
As part of the reopening of the Cannes Grasse railway line in 2004, four unstaffed railway stops were put into service at Cannes-Le Bosquet, Cannes-Frayère, Cannes-Ranguin, and Mouans-Sartoux.
Only the city of Grasse was provided with a staffed station.
Furthermore, to offer a better quality of service to the many users of the Mouans-Sartoux stop, the Region committed to investing €462,400 for a total project cost of €578,000 to rehabilitate and reopen the old station, which now features a waiting room, sales counters, and information devices.
The Pôle Azur Provence urban community wished, in the context of its responsibility for developments related to the TER Grasse-Nice line, to support this development project by contributing financially. A partnership agreement related to the funding of project studies and the realization of the Mouans-Sartoux station was signed between the Region and Pôle Azur Provence on April 29, 2010, to confirm this commitment.
A total investment of €115,600 was made by the urban community for the rehabilitation of the passenger building at the Mouans-Sartoux station.
