It is at the Palais de l’Europe in Menton that the new municipal library of Menton now brings together the children’s and adult’s libraries into one.
The City of Menton takes a new step in its cultural development. After the new Cocteau museum (Séverin Wunderman collection) opened in November 2011, it is now the municipal library’s turn to undergo a transformation.
This new cultural venue is focused on diversity: whether in the tools available, naturally with books, but also computers, CDs, and DVDs, or across different eras. Each generation will have a space dedicated to them: children, teenagers, and adults. This was made possible by the expansion of the library, now spanning three floors and covering an area of 1500 square meters. Diversity is also evident in the rooms and their layout: some are cozy, while others are colorful.
On the “media library” side, there will be Wi-Fi access for connecting to the web. Young people who wish can also follow traffic code programs and receive school support. A video room with scheduled animations throughout the year will also be set up.
