This Friday, March 24 at 11 AM at the Gardens of the Monastery of Cimiez
This work was selected by the Artwork Selection Committee, established as part of the policy to present artworks in public spaces, and chaired by Jean-Jacques Aillagon, former Minister of Culture.
Inviting creators to introduce a contemporary artistic presence into the urban landscape has become a reality to which Nice is particularly committed.
Caroline Bouissou was born in Nice and studied at the Villa Arson and the Listhaskoll in Reykjavik, Iceland. Holding a degree and an aggregation in Arts, her artistic work blends various disciplines such as sound, photography, and sculpture.
Her work “Observatoire,” created from perforated metal sheets and coated with white thermo lacquer, on which three cut-out disks rotate, allows for the decomposition and recomposition of the landscape.
This sculpture was exhibited in 2015 in the Tassart Park in Cahors and in 2016 at the Art Center of the Villa Arson.
It will be displayed in the Gardens of the Monastery of Cimiez for a duration of 6 months.
