Reaction from Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice: I wish to express my most sincere condolences to the families affected by this tragedy and to demonstrate all the solidarity of the city of Nice with the population of Genoa. “The torrential rains that have been hitting the city of Genoa for the past two days have resulted in a heavy toll with the death of six people and entire neighborhoods devastated.
Nice and Genoa signed a partnership agreement on February 11th aimed at strengthening the ties between our two cities.
In the face of this tragedy, I contacted the Mayor of Genoa, Marta Vincenzi, this morning to express my sorrow and compassion and to ensure the support of the City of Nice and Nice Côte d’Azur by offering to provide human and technical resources to support the rescuers, assist the people of Genoa, and participate in the cleaning of devastated areas.
