With a 5.6% increase in accidents and an 8.8% rise in the number of fatalities, September was deadly on French roads.

However, these negative figures do not reverse the overall trend of declining road insecurity. Over twelve months, the number of road deaths decreased by 4.8% and the number of injuries by 12%.
With fewer than 900 deaths, the summer of 2018 was even the least deadly in the past 10 years!
