The increase in energy prices remains the main driver of the observed price rise in France, according to INSEE.
Inflation rose to 2.9% in January on a year-over-year basis after remaining stable at 2.8% in December, reported INSEE this Friday in its final estimate.
Energy prices soared by 19.9% in January after rising by 18.5% in December on a year-over-year basis, while service prices increased by 2% and food prices by 1.5%, detailed the national statistics institute.
