“Influence Your City” and Maty Diouf, the municipal deputy in charge of this dossier, received the nine selected winners of the call for projects on combating discrimination yesterday. The evening concluded with the signing of partnership agreements.
Last year, as part of the “Influence Your City” consultation launched by the City of Nice for those aged 15 to 25, 3,000 young people from Nice responded to a questionnaire, participated in interactive workshops, and exchanged views on topics of interest to them: housing, health, employment, leisure, civic life, mobility, culture, etc.
Among the measures presented by Christian Estrosi was a call for projects, this year under the theme of “Combating Discrimination.” The city of Nice, wishing for young people to become more involved in local life, encouraged their initiatives. Out of 18 projects received, the municipality selected nine winners. They will receive financial support to bring their projects to fruition.
Maty Diouf, a member of the selection jury, wanted to highlight young people: “The population of Nice is getting younger, and as such, there is an urgency to act together to combat youth unemployment and fight against inequalities. Young people are essential to the social cohesion of the city, so let’s pool our efforts and energies to continue our fight“.
