Integrating a major Engineering School after the baccalaureate: a new entrance exam for students in the final year of technological high school.

Latest News

A new competition is being established in 2013 for high school students in their final year of STI2D (all 4 specialties) and STL (specialty in Physical and Chemical Sciences in the Laboratory) who wish to join a prestigious public engineering school: the Geipi Polytech STI2D-STL Competition.

polytech.jpg Spread across the entire country, the engineering schools of the Geipi Polytech common exam bank were previously only accessible to graduates of the S series (10,350 candidates in 2012).

The new STI2D-STL Competition is created with the aim of diversifying the profiles of engineers while maintaining a level of excellence. Additionally, the reform of the final year STI2D and STL programs should allow more high school students to succeed in engineering school.

According to Bertrand BONTE, President of the Geipi Polytech Competition: “The first cohort of STI2D and STL high school students, who will obtain their diploma at the end of June 2013, is fully capable of joining our schools. The new competition is intended for them. Furthermore, France and the international market should offer many professional opportunities in the coming years for young graduate engineers.”

An Adapted Training

Successful candidates will join the school or a partner program (such as an IUT) at the start of the university semester in September 2013 and will receive personalized support during the first two years.
Students will then be able to specialize in the field of their choice: acoustics, automotive, electronics, energy, environment & sustainable development, civil engineering, computer science, maintenance,
materials, mechanics, robotics, telecommunications, etc.

15 of the 18 affected public engineering schools have signed agreements with IUTs: students will do the first two years of training mostly at the IUT and the last three years at the School.
For students joining ESIREM Dijon, ESSTIN Nancy, or ISTIA Angers, the 5-year curriculum takes place entirely at the school.
