This Saturday, December 3rd, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities will be celebrated. The City of Nice has planned numerous activities for the occasion in various locations.
It has been since 1992 that the United Nations proclaimed this day specially in honor of persons with disabilities. It promotes their integration and access to economic, social, and political life. This day also allows for the reaffirmation of some basic principles: “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.” The City of Nice is celebrating this special day with numerous activities scattered in various locations. These events are free but require pre-registration until December 1st included, and are subject to availability.

Free sensory and playful workshop path
- Playful, sensory, and interactive activities: playing with shapes, sizes, and colors, awakening your senses (with touch, sounds, etc.), understanding cognitive abilities through geometric games, intuitive and tactile games, games to raise awareness of braille, sign language, etc.
- Activity path from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Inclusive visual arts workshop
- An inclusive art workshop accessible to everyone co-hosted by the Cap Art association and individuals with disabilities in partnership with the Trisomy 21 association.
- Exhibition of works from December 2nd to 17th at AnimaNice Costanzo. Free access to the opening on Wednesday, December 7th at 5 p.m. in the presence of the association Cap’Art and the artists.

MAMAC (Morning)
The exhibition “Becoming Flower”
The exhibition at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MAMAC) showcases artworks around the theme of flowers.
The artworks on display date from 1960 to today.
The flower is presented in the exhibition through various artistic techniques:

- Photographs
- Sculptures

Franciscans Hall – TNN (Morning)
- Discover the new setting of the TNN and travel back in time!
Come visit behind the scenes and the backstage of the Nice National Theater in the former Franciscan convent dating from the 13th century… A leap of 800 years in history! The oldest known building still standing in Old Nice, this site, now open to the public, is a true jewel of Nice’s heritage.

MAMAC (Afternoon)
The exhibition “Marine Models. Drawing Regeneration”
Artist Irene Kopelman creates works blending art and science.
In this exhibition, she focused on small marine organisms.
The artist presents here drawings, ceramics, paintings, and glassworks.

Theater “The Family Banquet” (FULL)
Bawdy depiction of a family meal animated by Nathalie Masseglia of the “Compagnie de l’embrayage à paillettes” and actors, workers with disabilities, from the ESAT of Prieuré de Saint Dalmas de Tende. A collaboration that has lasted 7 years and led to the creation of the company “Boutaïni.”
