“In France, we spend an average of 3 hours and 20 minutes in front of the television,” confides Yvan Levaï, a journalist on France Inter. “On television, we watch visual objects more,” he adds. “On the radio, imagination remains,” and “the radio is an instrument of freedom,” declares Yvan Levaï.
But radio is not just that: Yvan Levaï uses metaphors to convey his message. He compares a journalist’s voice to music. “Radio speech is constructed like music.” We also talk about colors on the radio.
Each channel has a very specific audience. Just like NRJ radio, which does not target the same audience as Radio Classique.
The journalist’s tool is information: “if you are a pianist, you cannot neglect music. If you are a journalist, you cannot neglect information.”
