From December 1 to 3 at the Fairmont Hotel
The 2009 International Peace and Sport Forum highlighted the urgency of involving more Peace through Sport stakeholders and the importance of better coordinating the actions being implemented.
Among the recommendations made, three priorities emerged:
Adapt programs to local issues, by involving local stakeholders more in their development;
Document best practices to inspire other initiative leaders;
Formalize new modes of experience exchange and coordination, particularly between International Organizations and International Sports Federations on one hand and local field actors on the other.
The format of the 2010 edition will address these expectations by focusing on the training of local operators, multiplying high-level exchanges between political decision-makers, and fostering interaction among participants.
To achieve these objectives, three approaches are proposed:
Workshops: Field actors will be able to express their specific issues on given topics and will benefit from learning concrete methodologies through the intervention of experts.
Plenaries: Panelist experiences and exchanges of points of view with the audience will contribute to identifying cooperation modes between the represented institutions to optimize ongoing action coordination.
Networking: This session offers participants the opportunity to benefit from the diversity of actors present by initiating meetings according to predefined criteria.
The Program
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 1

The support of a company for an international solidarity action often limits itself to a simple financial contribution, which may be challenged due to budgetary restrictions. The objective of this workshop is to open new avenues of reflection on sustainable funding sources for sports for peace programs.
