The Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR) takes place internationally on November 20th.
It commemorates the memory of those who were killed or driven to death because of transphobia.
Today, trans people face discrimination and are subjected to a series of obstacles that confine them to significant social precariousness.
On this day, they rally to assert the values of fraternity, dignity, and living together, and because they are committed to respecting human rights.
These events are organized by the LGBT Center Cรดte dโAzur, the Transgender Association Cรดte dโAzur (ATCA), and several other associations.
Friday, November 20th, at 6 PM: gathering and remembrance at Place du Palais de Justice, followed by a screening of the documentary โTRANSโ* by Chris Arnold (2012 โ previously unreleased in France) at the Mercury cinema at 8:30 PM.
The mobilization will continue on Saturday, November 21st, from 1 PM to 5 PM with โTRANS EXPRESSโ at the LGBT Center Cรดte dโAzur, 123 Rue de Roquebilliรจre.
AIDES and ATCA offer a โTrans Life Pathโ which, using a playful role-playing format, will confront participants with the everyday situations faced by trans people and thereby foster a better understanding of their precarious situation.
Then from 5 PM to 6 PM: a book signing session with KARINE ESPINEIRA
Vigna Bookstore, 3 Rue Delille.
Karine Espineira (sociologist and co-leader of the Trans Identity Observatory) will sign her books.
