International Transgender Day of Remembrance: Gathering and Reflection

Latest News

The Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR) is held internationally on November 20. It commemorates the memory of those who have been murdered or driven to death by transphobia, which is the denial of existence and hatred towards trans people.

Today, in France and around the world, trans people face discrimination. The imposition of successive obstacles brutally traps them in severe social precarity.

In France, this includes:

โ€ข 85% of transgender people experiencing discrimination
โ€ข 2/3 of transgender adolescents having contemplated attempted suicide, with 1/3 having acted on it

A gathering is organized this evening at 6 PM at Place Massรฉna to raise awareness. The LGBT association calls for values of fraternity and dignity, and for the respect of human rights.
