In 1977, the United Nations adopted a resolution inviting all countries to dedicate a day to the celebration of women’s rights.
Each year, on March 8th, millions of women and men around the world mark International Women’s Day.
This day is the perfect opportunity to assess the progress made towards promoting gender equality, to identify the challenges women face in society, and to consider the measures needed to improve their living conditions.
As part of this day, Christian Estrosi wishes to pay tribute to all ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of women’s rights, encourage the women of Nice who share this goal, and honor all those who combine family responsibilities with civic engagement in the service of others on a daily basis, in areas as varied as:
– Solidarity,
– The desire for integration,
– Civic engagement,
– Tradition,
– Security,
– Culture,
– Sport,
– Senior dynamism.
