Before the return of the Nikaïa meeting on June 17 after a 22-year absence, students from René Cassin had the opportunity to try out athletics.
Reviving the Nikaïa meeting is the goal set by the organizers of the event, which had disappeared for financial reasons since 2001. To achieve this, students from René Cassin in the Ariane district had the chance to spend some time with the French 400m hurdles champion (Editor’s note: in 2022 and current double indoor French champion), Camille Séri.
This moment was appreciated by the champion, who is affiliated with Nice Côte d’Azur Athletics. “It was very enriching to be able to spend this time with these young students from Nice. They were very eager, interested, and asked a lot of questions after the exercises. They are also very enthusiastic about the idea of coming to the Meeting on June 17, and I look forward to seeing them there after my race,” she shared after spending time with the students.
All have been invited to the return of this great athletic celebration. Who knows, it might even inspire one or more vocations.
