Prevention and awareness are solutions to avoid sometimes dramatic dog attacks and/or bites among the youngest.

This is why the “Animal in the City” mission, the Academic Inspection of the Alpes-Maritimes, and the ACDC (Association Against Canine Discrimination) propose an educational program to explain to young children how to behave properly with animals in general, and dogs in particular, teach them how to react in the face of a threat or attack, and raise their awareness of responsible behavior towards pets.

This initiation, aimed at CM1 and CM2 students in Nice, takes place over 45 minutes. It is led by a trainer dog handler who will help children better understand risky behaviors and avoid them (canine psychology, bite prevention, dog’s language and communication), but also make them realize that a dog is not a toy, that there are certain rules to follow, and that welcoming an animal into the home requires being responsible and respectful.
