With distances adjusted according to age and an aquathlon format that allows everyone to participate in the race (a swimsuit and a pair of sneakers are enough), Ironkids is a magical formula for children who can see themselves in the Ironman, the true hero of the day. 130 children per category can take part in this international event, totaling 520 in all.
This year’s new challenge: the Club Challenge Kids. The most represented club will win the Club Challenge Kids and will be awarded the “Club Star Ironkids” trophy until it is contested again the following year. This title ensures a year-long renown for the club. Primary schools and middle schools can also join in with the title of “School Star Ironkids” and “Middle School Star Ironkids,” for the pride of teachers and parents. On the eve of the summer holidays, it’s an opportunity for children to share a wonderful moment of camaraderie with their classmates.
By participating in this event, they will discover essential sports values important for their balance: fair play, rigor, a sense of competition, and self-sacrifice, but also camaraderie and the unexpected pleasure of being part of this event. They will rejoice in crossing the finish line in front of their parents, friends, and the public in Nice to receive a medal, worthy of the greatest athletes. Because these children are Small in Size but Big in Talent!
Join us on June 28 at 9:00 AM to cheer on the champions of the 5th edition of Ironkids!
Registrations are open until June 27, 2009, the day before the race, on-site or by downloading the registration form from the website www.ironkidsfrance.com. As of today, 260 spots are still available, across all categories.
